'Süd' (iii) was a German deception operation, involving a feint attack across the Mussolini Canal in the direction of Borgo Piave on the south-eastern section of the German perimeter around Anzio on the western side of Italy after the establishment of the Allied 'Shingle' lodgement (29 February 1944).
