'Addict' was a British series of 19 operations by Lieutenant Colonel D. L. Lloyd Owen’s Long Range Desert Group, supported by British light naval forces, against German targets on the Istrian peninsula and in the surrounding region of northern Italy and northern Yugoslavia (21 February/25 April 1945).
'Addict I' on 21 February involved the landing of 10 men and 1.5 tons of supplies by MGB-180 and MGB-181 at Vignole bay, Istria.
'Addict II' on 6 March involved the extraction of eight men from Istria by MGB-179.
'Addict III' on 8 March involved the extraction of six men from Istria by MGB-179.
'Addict IV' was an effort by MGB-179 on 8 March, and foiled by the weather, to land the men and equipment for a look-out post on Istria.
'Addict V' on 10 March saw the use of MGB-179 to land supplies on Istria.
'Addict VI' on 12 March saw the use of MGB-170 to land radio equipment on Istria.
'Addict VII' on 15 March involved MGB-179 to land more radio equipment in Istria; the boat struck a mine on the return voyage but suffered no casualties.
'Addict VIII' on 21 March involved ML-238 and ML-576 to extract two agents from Kres.
'Addict IX' on 27 March was the landing by MGB-180 of two agents on Olib island.
'Addict X' on 30 March was the landing of supplies and the extraction of seven men from a point south of Trieste by MGB-180.
'Addict XI' on 30 March was the extraction of 10 men from a point east of Pula by MGB-180.
'Addict XII' on 2 April was an attempt, foiled by German action, to land a raiding party in Bucina cove, to the east of Pula, by MGB-180.
'Addict XIII' on 3 April landed three men at a point to the east of Pula by MGB-180.
'Addict XIV' on 5 April involved MGB-180 in the landing of 15 men on the Istrian coast.
'Addict XV' on 6 April involved ML-576 in the landing and re-embarkation of a raiding part and seven prisoners on the Istrian coast.
'Addict XVI' on 6 April involved ML-576 in the landing and re-embarkation of a raiding party on the Istrian coast.
'Addict XVII' on 9 April involved MGB-180 in an attempt, foiled by German opposition, to land 27 men and supplies on the Istrian coast.
'Addict XVIII' on 16 April involved MGB-191 in the evacuation of eight men from the Istrian coast.
'Addict XIX' on 25 April involved MGB-180 and MGB-191 in the evacuation of eight men from the Istrian coast. German coastal guns fired on the two boats, but caused only minor damage and no casualties.
