Operation AH (iii)

'AH' (iii) was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Bari to Ancona in Italy (January/May 1945).

The first of these convoys was AH.1 of 15/16 January with the 275-ton Italian Apuania, 1,847-ton British Cid, 7,160-ton British Fort Machault, 1,497-ton Norwegian Hildur I, 1,236-ton British Iceland and 7,219-ton British Samtay. The last was AH.34 of 30 April/1 May 1945 with the 7,176-ton US Augustus S. Merrimon, 1,931-ton British Esneh, 7,100-ton British Fort Chesterfield, 1,497-ton Norwegian Hildur I, 1,512-ton British Hindsholm, 7,262-ton British Houston City II and 2,024-ton British Octane.
