Operation AK

'AK' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Aden to Kilindini, Kenya. and as such reciprocals of the 'KA' series (September 1940/August 1944).

The first of these 14 convoys, some of whose designations were used twice, was AK.1 of 6/17 September 1940 with the 5,574-ton British Ethiopia, 4,043-ton British Khosrou and 5,463-ton British Rahmani, and the last of the series was AK.12 of 18/25 August 1944 with the 7,063-ton British Salween.
