'Angel' was the German second of a series of four naval undertakings by the ex-Italian torpedo boats TA 24, TA 29 and TA 30 of Korvettenkapitän Wirich von Gartzen’s 10^th Torpedoboots-Flottille to lay minefields in the Ligurian Sea off the north-western coast of Italy (11/28 May 1944).
