'Angel Move' was a British and Canadian unrealised plan for the movement of Brigadier Armand A. Smith’s Canadian 1st Brigade of Major General A. G. L. McNaughton’s Canadian 1st Division from the UK to France via Dover (June 1940).
Of the brigade’s three battalions, only The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment actually reached France, and this was returned almost immediately as the fall of France was clearly imminent and the brigade, even if assembled, would not be able to achieve anything but its own destruction.
