'Brasso' was a British undertaking to ensure the speedy unloading of the freighters Orari and Troilus along the lines of the programme developed for all the ships which reached Malta in 'Harpoon' (ii) and 'Vigorous (ii), and for the removal of the cargo from the port area to dispersed sites where Axis air attack would not destroy entire shipments (16 June 1942).
The undertaking provided two teams, each of 500 British service personnel and 400 Maltese port labourers, but in the event the 10,350-ton Orari was unloaded by the British and the 7,422-ton Troilus by the Maltese.
