'Brutus' (ii) was a British special forces operation by the Belgian Independent Parachute Company (5th Special Air Service) to generate intelligence and aid a local resistance unit near Yvour and Mulet in Belgium between the locations of the same unit’s 'Noah' (ii) and 'Bergbang' undertakings (5/15 September 1944).
A party of 19 men was parachuted into the area to the east of the Meuse river, in the line of advance of Major General Raymond O. Barton’s US 4th Division, to establish contact with the resistance and also another party of the 5th SAS, and a 20-man reinforcement party was parachuted into the same area on 9 September, which allowed the operation to be extended to 15 September.
