Operation Buckshot (i)

'Buckshot' (i) was a British unrealised plan for an offensive to the west in the direction of the Axis installations in the Benghazi area of Cyrenaica by Lieutenant General N. M. Ritchie’s 8th Army (May/June 1942).

The plan was cancelled after it had been pre-empted by the 'Aïda' eastward drive of Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel’s Panzerarmee 'Afrika' from the Gazala line.
