'Buttermilk' was a British naval undertaking to lay a deep anti-submarine minefield in the English Channel off Portsmouth (20 March/6 April 1945).

The largest ship involved was the coastal minelayer Plover, which was supported by the motor launches of the 10^th, 50^th and 52^nd Motor Launch Flotillas.
