Operation Cavalry

'Cavalry' was a British and French pair of convoy operations between Haifa in Palestine and Marseille in the south of France (11/29 January 1940).

The first was 'Cavalry', whose unidentified ships made their passage on 11/18 January from Haifa to Marseille, and the second was 'Cavalry 1' in the opposite direction on 23/29 January with five British merchant ships in the form of the 11,275-ton Devonshire, 11,080-ton Dilwara, 8,478-ton Rajula, 8,602-ton Rohna and 8,018-ton Talamba.
