'Christopherus' was a German undertaking to secure as many as 6,000 civilian transport vehicles for deployment to the Eastern Front in the USSR for the use of Generalfeldmarschall Günther von Kluge’s Heeresgruppe 'Mitte' in the aftermath of the failure of the German 'Taifun' (i) and 'Wotan' and the current Soviet 'Rzhev-Vyaz’ma Strategic Offensive Operation' (January 1942).
