Operation CN

'CN' was the designation of Allied convoys steaming to the north from Cape Town, South Africa, for dispersal (January 1943/June 1944).

The first of these 'Cape Town Northward' series was CN.1 of 22/24 January 1943 with four ships including the 2,992-ton Swedish Dalhem and 7,181-ton US PeterJ. McGuire, and the last was CN.33 of 23/24 June 1944 with the 8,520-ton British City of Chester.
