Operation Cork

'Cork' was a British programme of air patrols by Air Chief Marshal Sir William Sholto Douglas’s RAF Coastal Command to detect and destroy U-boats in the South-Western Approaches to the UK (June 1944).

The undertaking was the western counterpart of the 'Conebo' anti-ship operation at the eastern end of the English Channel, and thus designed to increase the protection afforded to the 'Neptune' (iii) assault convoys for 'Overlord'.
