'CX' (i) was the designation of British convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying between Colombo, Ceylon, and Addu atoll, Maldive islands group, and the Chagos islands group (April 1943/February 1945).
Supplying the British island naval bases in the western part of the Indian Ocean, the first of the series was CX.1 of 9/11 April 1943 with the 5,284-ton British Jalagopal and 4,927-ton British Singu together with the destroyer depot ship Lucia on her way to Kilindini on the eastern coast of Africa, and the last was CX.37 of 15/17 February 1945 with one ship.
