Operation Dodge (ii)

'Dodge' (ii) was the British air operation to repatriate British and commonwealth troops of the 8th Army from the central Mediterranean area (July 1945/May 1946).

Most of the flights, which used Avro Lancaster heavy bombers each adapted for the carriage of 25 men, lifted off from Bari or Pomigliano in southern Italy on their repatriation flights, and landed at a number of air bases in southern England before the men were transported to demobilisation centres.
