'Eisbär' (iii) was a U-boat wolfpack operation off the north-western coast of German-occupied Norway against Allied Arctic convoys (27 March/15 April 1943).
The wolfpack comprised U-212, U-251, U-255, U-269, U-302, U-354, U-355, U-378, U-467, U-625, U-639 and U-644, and for the loss of Oberleutnant Kurt Jensen’s U-644, send to the bottom off Jan Mayen island by torpedoes from the British submarine Tuna on 7 April, sank no ship.
