'Elsenborn' was a US tactical deception undertaking by the 23^rd Headquarters Special Troops to simulate the presence, in the rear area near Elsenborn in Belgium, of Major General Louis A. Craig’s US 9^th Division as this formation moved toward the area of the Hürtgenwald (3/12 November 1944).
