'EPM' was the designation of Allied military convoys (together with a numerical suffix) carrying motor transport from Portland via the Solent to France within the context of 'Overlord', and as such reciprocals of the 'FPM' series (July/September 1944).
The first recorded convoy of the series was EPM.2 of 12 July from Portland to the Seine Bay with 15 US merchant ships of the 'Liberty' type with a tonnage in the order of 7,176 tons, and this was escorted by two British warships in the form of the corvette Strule and corvette Balsam. The last of the series was EPM.70 of 21 September from Portland to the Seine Bay with seven 'Liberty' ships.
