Operation Etna

'Etna' was a British naval undertaking to land agents of the Special Operations Executive on the coast of the German-occupied French island of Corsica in the Mediterranean (6/10 May 1943).

The submarine Trident departed Algiers in North Africa to attempt the evacuation of a French SOE party from Corsica and land two Soviet agents on the north-west coast of Italy. Neither part of the operation could be completed, and the submarine returned to Algiers.
