'FC' (ii) was the designation of Allied military convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Fall River, New Guinea, to Cairns, north-eastern Australia (February/May 1943).
The first of the series was FC.1 of 22/24 February with the 7,181-ton US Francis Lewis, 7,181-ton US George W. McCrary, 2,071-ton Dutch Janssens, 2,464-ton Dutch Van der Lijn and 3,234-ton Dutch Van Spilbergen escorted by the Australian minesweeper Pirie. The last was FC.10 of 20/22 May with the 4,608-ton Dutch Cremer and 3,323-ton Dutch Japara II escorted by the US submarine chaser PC-1121.
