'Fence' was a British programme anti-submarine operations in the Strait of Otranto between southern Italy and German-occupied Albania (1943/8 May 1945).

The object was to trap any U-boats already in the Adriatic Sea, and to prevent U-boats operating in the Mediterranean Sea from reaching the ports along the German-held coasts of the Adriatic Sea for maintenance, repairs and supplies.
