Operation FM (ii)

'FM' (ii) was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route between Milne Bay or Fall River and Port Moresby, New Guinea, and as such reciprocals of the 'MF' series (January/June 1944).

The FM.1 convoy of 29/30 January from Milne Bay to Port Moresby comprised the 9,246-ton Dutch Brastagi and 10,448-ton US Gervais, and the FM.2 convoy of 7/8 June from Fall River to Port Moresby 1944 comprised the 4,131-ton Dutch Maetsuycker and 2,147-ton Dutch Van Swoll.
