'Fungus' (i) was a British special forces operation to parachute a three-man Special Operations Executive team of Croat-born Canadians into the Dreznica area of German-occupied Yugoslavia to aid the Croat resistance forces (21 April 1943 onward).
The three-man party comprised Petar Erdeljevac, Pavle Pavić and Aleksandar Simić. Erdeljevac was an ex-volunteer in the Spanish Civil war and served with the Battalion Dimitrov. The party’s mission was to make contact to local partisan forces in Croatia and report about their actions, and after thus to establish contact with the partisan command for Croatia.
