'Gesellenprüfung' (i) was a German naval operation in the North Sea off the coast of East Anglia (28/29 March 1943).
On this night a force of seven S-boote tried to attack the FS.1074 convoy off Smiths Knoll, but the escort drove off some of the attackers and the others were pursued by British motor gun boats under the command of Lieutenant D. G. Bradford. Having led MGB-321 and MGB-333 in an attack on five of the S-boote, one of which was damaged, Bradford rammed another, S 29, which was later scuttled by the Germans after its surviving crew members had been taken off.
