'Grosser Plan' was a German unrealised and indeed wholly unrealistic strategic naval scheme for the co-ordination of the German, Italian and Japanese naval forces for a number of strategic options (25 February 1942 onward).

These options included a Japanese assault on the Persian Gulf so that the British forces in North Africa and the Middle East could be engaged from the east as well as from the west.
