'Grün 100535' was one of the German code phrases for the launch of operations within 'Sichelschnitt', in this instance by Generalleutnant Gerhard Kauffmann’s 256th Division of General Albert Wodrig’s XXVI Corps of General Georg von Küchler’s 18th Army within Generaloberst Fedor von Bock’s Heeresgruppe 'B' (9/10 May 1940).
The division was under orders to advance along an axis which took it to the bridges over the Maas river at Gennep in the Dutch forces' Peel position in the Netherlands.
