'GS' (ii) was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Greenland to Sydney, Nova Scotia, or St Johns, Newfoundland, and as such reciprocals of the 'SG' (ii) series (July 1942/June 1945).
The first of the series was GS.1 of 6/11 July 1942 from Greenland to Sydney with Montrose, which was wrecked, and two US commissioned vessels in the form of the 2,054-ton freighter Aquila and 5,450-ton oiler Laramie, and the last was GS.68 of 29 May/2 June 1945 from Greenland to Sydney with unspecified ships.
