Operation GT

'GT' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Gladstone to Townsville, north-eastern Australia (December 1942/June 1943).

The first of the series was GT.2 of 21/23 December 1942 with the 5,033-ton Dutch Bontekoe, 4,608-ton Dutch Cremer, 4,992-ton Dutch Tasman and 4,552-ton Van Heutsz, and the last was GT.8 of 2/3 June 1943 with the 7,994-ton US Nancy Hanks and 4,552-ton Dutch Van Heutsz.
