'Haircut' was a US deception planned and implemented as a supplement to the 'Rosebud' deception intended to validate Lieutenant General George S. Patton’s fictional US 1^st Army Group, and simulated an amphibious assault in Studland Bay and subsequent ground training by two fictitious components (293^rd Infantry and 467^th Field Artillery) of the notional 17^th Division (July 1944).
