'Herbstreise' (ii) was a German unrealised plan, agreed by Adolf Hitler and the Oberkommando des Heeres at Vinnitsa and transmitted to Generaloberst Maximilian Reichsfreiherr von Weichs’s Heeresgruppe 'B' three days later, for Generaloberst Friedrich Paulus’s 6th Army to go over to the offensive with the object of reaching the line linking Erzovka and Varlamov Mogila, to the north of Stalingrad, and there establishing winter positions (12 September 1942).
