'Herbstzeitlose' was a German cancelled plan for Generaloberst Friedrich Paulus’s 6^th Army to extend its left flank to the north in the direction of Saratov between the Don and Volga rivers for the establishment of a position in which the army could ride out the oncoming winter (October 1942).
