'Hiccoughs' was a British long-term intelligence deception against the Japanese in Burma (1942/45).

The operation took the form of spurious messages, in an easily breakable code and broadcast by All-India Radio, to a notional network of British agents working behind the Japanese lines, and used to suggest British interest in a number of areas and topics which were actually irrelevant to them.
