'I' (i) was an Italian convoy operation across the Mediterranean (19/22 May 1942).
At this time there were several Italian convoys making the crossing between ports in southern Italy and the North African ports of Tripoli and Benghazi, with escort provided by the destroyers Ugolini Vivaldi, Lanzerotto Malocello, Emanuele Pessagno, Antoniotto Usodimare and Nicolo Zeno and the torpedo boats Circe, Climene, Perseo and Polluce.
Of the these undertakings, only the 'I' (i) convoy was attacked. The transport Agostino Bartani was struck and damaged by an air-launched torpedo, but was taken in tow and reached Tripoli.
