'Induction' was a US unrealised plan for the invasion of Luzon island in the Philippine islands group as part of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz’s 'Granite' plan for an east/west Allied thrust across the Pacific to Formosa and China (1944).
After considerable and often acrimonious debate, the 'Reno' scheme of General Douglas MacArthur’s South-West Pacific Area command for a south/north offensive was preferred, resulting in the 'King', 'Mike' and 'Victor' operations.
