'Infatuate' (i) was an Allied unrealised plan for the landing of the whole of Lieutenant General F. A. M. Browning’s British I Airborne Corps (Major General R. E. Urquhart’s 1^st Airborne Division and Major General R. N. Gale’s 6^th Airborne Division as well as supporting units) of Lieutenant General Lewis H. Brereton’s Allied 1^st Airborne Army in Belgium to threaten Antwerp and trap the German forces round the estuary of the Scheldt river (September 1944).
