Operation Insurgent

'Insurgent' was a US unrealised plan for the invasion of Mindanao island in the Japanese-occupied Philippine islands group as part of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz’s 'Granite' scheme for an east/west Allied thrust across the Pacific to Formosa and the mainland of China (1943/44).

The 'Reno' plan of General Douglas MacArthur’s South-West Pacific Area command was preferred, resulting in the 'Victor IV' and 'Victor V' undertakings.
