'KC' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Key West, Florida to Havana, Cuba, and as such reciprocals of the 'CK' series (October 1942/August 1943).
Several of the scheduled convoys were cancelled, but those of this 'Key Wet to Cuba' series which did run started with KC.2 of 15/16 October 1942 with the US Crawford Ellis, US Georgeanna, US Hercules and 2,686-ton US West Texas escorted by the US submarine chasers PC-566, PC-645, PC-646, PC-650 and YMS-18, and ended with KC.21 of 10 August 1943 with the 3,906-ton Panamanian Potomac escorted by the US submarine chasers SC-656, SC-1468 and SC-1473.
