'LGE' was the designation Allied convoys (together with a numerical and sometimes a literal suffix) from Lagos, Nigeria, to the east along the coast of West Africa, and as such reciprocals of the 'LGW' series (March 1944).
The first of these four 'Lagos Eastbound' dispersal convoys was LGE.1 of 10 March with the 2,050-ton British Ajasa, 5,609-ton British Anglo Indian, 355-ton British Auchmacoy, 3,177-ton British Bornholm, 7,069-ton British Empire Flame, 5,206-ton Norwegian Fernglen, 5,274-ton British King William, 1,387-ton Polish Lida and 4,275-ton British Matadian, and the last was LGE.2W of 27 March with 11 unspecified ships.
