'Löwe' was the German unrealised initial plan, paving the way to the definitive 'Seelöwe', by the staff of Generalmajor (from 19 July Generalleutnant) Alfred Jodl, the chief-of-staff of the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht, for a German seaborne invasion of the UK (12 July 1940).
