Operation Madonna Able

'Madonna Able' was a British unsuccessful special forces attempt by No. 10 (Inter-Allied) Commando to raid the port of Scheveningen in the German-occupied Netherlands (26/27 October 1943).

A commando party was delivered to the specified area by the motor torpedo boat MTB-671, which launched a dory carrying the assault team. As a result of a compass failure the assault team failed to locate its landing area and tuned back, only to find that the motor torpedo boat had meanwhile departed, but managed to return to England on the following day.

Another attempt was later made against the same target area in 'Premium' (ii).
