'Mallory' was a US contingency plan first schemed by Major William Mallory of Major General John K. Cannon’s US 12^th AAF to bomb the bridges over the Po river in northern Italy as all the German supplies and all the raw materials for war industries in the Po river valley had to pass through these 24 road and railway bridge chokepoints (1944).
