'Mars' (ii) was a German 'alternative' undertaking, performed at the express order of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, in an effort to determine the whereabouts of Benito Mussolini after the Italian leader’s overthrow and imprisonment (July/September 1943).

This bizarre undertaking involved the assembly of a group of 40 soothsayers, fortune tellers, astrologers and similar practitioners from prisons and concentration camps in an effort to divine the location in which the deposed Italian leader was being held.
