'Maundy II' was a British operation by the Special Operations Executive to intercept and destroy shipping in the coastal waters north of Kristiansund in German-occupied Norway (October 1941).
The fishing boat Nordsjøen departed the Shetland islands group on 19 October with 42 mines. These were laid on 21 October, but the boat then encountered a major storm and had to be abandoned. All the men eventually made their way back to the UK, including a group of seven in the fishing boat Arthur.
