Operation MAZ2

'MAZ2' was a British naval undertaking to intercept any Axis ships or small craft trying to evacuate German or Italian troops from the North African coast of the Western Desert between Bardia and Tobruk in Libya after the 2nd Battle of El Alamein (12/13 November 1942).

Two motor torpedo boats were entrusted with the task and departed Mersa Matruh in Egypt to patrol off Ras el Mreisa.
