Operation ME5

This was a British naval plan for the co-operation of two forces in surface ship attacks on Axis convoys plying across the Mediterranean between Italy or Greece and North Africa (November/December 1941).

The two forces were the Malta-based Force 'K' comprising the light cruisers Aurora and Penelope and destroyers including Lance and Lively, and the Alexandria-based Force 'B' comprising the light cruisers Ajax and Neptune of the 7th Cruiser Squadron, the light cruiser Galatea and light anti-aircraft cruisers Euryalus and Naiad of the 15th Cruiser Squadron, and four destroyers.
