This was a US tactical deception by the 23^rd Headquarters Special Troops in succession to '11^th Panzer Division', and was a sound deception to simulate the concentration of US armour at a distance of about 15 miles (24 km) to the south-west of the town of Merzig in western Germany (13/15 February 1945).
