'Mimose' was the German movement of SS-Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Waffen-SS Werner Ostendorff’s (from 17 June SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS Otto Binge’s and from 20 June SS-Brigadeführer und Generalmajor der Waffen-SS Otto Baum’s) 17th SS Panzergrenadierdivision 'Götz von Berlichingen' from the area of Generalleutnant Helmuth von der Chevallerie’s 1st Army, to the south of the Loire river in western France, to the sector of Generaloberst Friedrich Dollmann’s 7th Army facing Lieutenant General Omar N. Bradley’s US 1st Army at the base of the Cotentin peninsula in north-western France (June/July 1944).
