Operation Mira

target

'Mira' was an Italian convoy support operation across the Mediterranean from Naples in southern Italy to Tripoli in North Africa (10/13 May 1942).

The operation was designed to ensure the passage of the 'R' and 'G' convoys, of two and four freighters respectively. 'R' was escorted by the torpedo boats Castore and Climene, and 'G' by the destroyers Nicoloso da Recco and Premuda, and torpedo boats Pallade, Polluce and Generale Marcello Prestinari.

Like several other small convoys at this time, the 'R' and 'G' convoys reached their destination without loss.
