'Murrayfield' was a British deception within 'Bertram' in the period leading to the 'Lightfoot' initial phase of the 2^nd Battle of El Alamein (October 1942).

When two brigades of Major General R. Briggs’s British 1^st Armoured Division and the entirety of Major General A. H. Gatehouse’s British 10^th Armoured Brigade arrived from the south in a secret concentration into the north of Lieutenant General B. L. Montgomery’s British 8^th Army, where the main thrust was to be made, the real and dummy vehicles they replaced were relocated to a position behind the centre of the 8^th Army’s front in 'Murrayfield'.
